Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP) is a water-soluble, stabilized vitamin C derivative produced by phosphorylation of ascorbic acid. It works by enzymatic conversion in the skin to active vitamin C, providing antioxidant protection and supporting collagen synthesis.

Its chemical structure offers excellent stability and allows effective performance at a near-neutral pH (~7), making it gentler on sensitive skin and a preferred vitamin C alternative for higher-pH formulations.
